*A Note on Allyship: When attending a Sea + Soil event, allyship to BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities is essential to cultivating safe and inclusive spaces for all. Our definition of allyship involves actively listening and prioritizing understanding of the cultures, histories, and systemic barriers of these communities that shape their unique realities. We advocate for leveraging whatever privilege we have to confront discrimination and microaggressions to stand in solidarity with marginalized individuals. We respect pronouns and identities, and refrain from appropriating or trivializing cultures that are not our own. Ultimately, we engage in allyship that centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ experiences and perspectives and actively supports their leadership within the community.
